Previously, she was a tenured associate professor and Faculty Director of the East Asian Library at University of Colorado at Boulder\uff0cand Head of East Asian Library at University of Pittsburgh where she also was appointed adjunct professor on the faculty of the Department of History.  She served as Chair of the Committee on Chinese Materials and member of the Executive Board of the Council for East Asian Libraries (CEAL\uff0c2005-08\uff09, President of the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA\uff0c2010-11) &#038; is the recipient of CALA 2018 Distinguished Service Award. In 2016, she was elected respectively as president of Society of Chinese Studies Librarians (SCSL) \uff082016-18\uff09\uff0cvice-president\/president elect of CEAL \uff082016-18\uff09\uff0cand is currently President of CEAL (2018-20).  She has a Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago and MS in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
