Dr. Jing Zhou earned her Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from University of Maryland Baltimore County. She joined National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2005, and worked at Protein Data Bank, Rutgers University, until she went back to Beijing in 2011 for entrepreneurship. From 2011-2014, Dr. Zhou co-founded an environmental company to focus on arsenic and heavy metal removal from drinking and waste water. She was honored as Beijing Distinguished Expert (Hai Ju) by Beijing government office for her outstanding contribution as an entrepreneur.


Dr. Zhou grew up in Beijing, China. She is committed to the solutions of environmental pollution China, and she is also a scientific advisor in multiple non-profit environmental organizations.
